Superbad R&B CD Release Show-Off 5/22/07 Nashville, TN (photos by Renee Rome)
- My superbad band makes me smile like this. Allow me to introduce them to you. We'll return with more pix of the chick in red after these messages...

- My producer, publisher, guitar player, band leader, and R&B sensei: Mr. Bruce Dees.

- Clownin'...

- Diggin' in. That green Parker guitar may look funny but it sounds like a million bucks.

- Jamie Brantley: guitar/vocals. Damn that boy can play. And sing. Woo!

- Jamie has been Ronnie Milsap's bandleader for a long time. We finally stole him away for a few days. Thanks, Ronnie!

- Steve "Sweet Tea" Brantley: bass/vocals. Jamie's big brother and the anchor of this whole big ass band...and my record, for that matter.

- There ain't no interrupting this man's groove.

- Augusta, GA up in the house.

- Jonathan Dees: drums. Bruce's youngest son. The boy is BAD.

- Jon's first session was was a hand clap overdub with Bruce (his dad), legendary drummer Larrie Londin and Larrie's son. He was 12 and grinning way bigger than this.

- Tom Roady on percussion. Dig the sparkly congas...

- If I had his list of recording and performing credits I'd be smiling too! See for yourself at www.tomroady.com.

- Clayton Ivy: keys. This man has played on more records than God. Including mine, thank you very much.

- This is Clayton smiling....no, really...

- Andy McMahon: keys.

- Andy is a really cosmic dude and a beautiful player. Having him AND Clayton onstage with me? It don't get much better.

- The sangin-est vocal section you ever did hear: (L to R) Cindy Walker, Vickie Carrico & Lisa Silver. (PS - That overdub session Jonathan did with Bruce & Larrie was on a Lisa Silver record. It's deep around here.)

- OK...we now return you to the chick in red. (PS - There's Lisa & Clayton behind me. They're married. To each other. Have I mentioned it's deep around here?)

- Sangin'...

- Sangin' louder...

- "Now listen..."

- At the Wurly for "Miss You Bad Tonight"

- Somethin' got a hold on me

- Ooo - dance break - look out.

- Haaa-aaaay...get down.

- I love singin'.

- I really love singin'.

- "All of my trouble in my soul's released..."

- I am momentarily overcome by the Brantley brothers. It happens.

- Here we're doing a new song I wrote with the fabulous Vickie Carrico (that's her little dynamo self in the middle) called "You Put The Hurtin' On Me". We knocked it out of the park that night, boy.

- Darling David from the UPS Store strikes again. They have the best service in there!

- Bryan was outside trying to figure a way to get these flowers to me when David showed up. Ever clever and service-minded, he said "I got an idea" and ran back to his car to get his uniform. Totally spontaneous and it worked like a charm (see above photo).

- Er-r-ybody on the right

- Er-r-ybody on the left

- Er-r-ybody!!!

- We finally did it! Sho' was bad....
