Singer Nerd gets her groove back thanks to Lizzo and a bottle of tequila.

WOOOOOOOO child, tired of the bullshit.

Oh you guys. I know…. it’s been a STOOPIDLY long time since I’ve done this. I’ve tried a handful of times, but the well was dry. Oftentimes the well went so far as to flip me off. (#rude!) I’ve been going to a new doctor lately and after asking me 4723 interesting questions and doing lots of curious tests, he said “wow - your right brain is TIRED. Not misfiring or anything, but it is like *REALLY* tired.” <pause> “That’s your creative side, you know….”

Me: “Yeah… that definitely tracks. No WONDER!”

Him: “You want me to treat that?”

Me: “Holy shit you can do that? YES, PLEASE!!”

That was about a month ago. Not only is singernerd back, but my songwriter side seems to be coming out of hibernation too. I woke up a few weeks ago with a song idea in my head. I don’t even remember the last time that happened.

Suffice it to say, for the first time in awhile I am feeling GOOD AS HELL.

And can we just take a second to celebrate the unmitigated brilliance that is Lizzo?? I mean…. just LOOK AT THIS, YOU GUYS!!! (Don’t let the butts scare you off - the message is SOOO worth it.) She is dropping MAD self love bombs at the VMA awards. WHATT??!? *bows down* And don’t get me started on her Glastonbury festival healing mantra moment. I’m basically ready to join her cult as soon as the sign up sheet gets ‘round to me. I’ll settle for the book club if the cult is full.

I know it’s hard being a human out there but GO LOVE YOURSELF. Like Queen Lizzo said at Glastonbury: “I love you, you are beautiful, and you can do anything.” Say it out loud. Now. Good job. ;) OK. I gotta pack for a tour.

I love you. You are beautiful. And you can do ANYTHING.
